The Falling Man vineyard is planted on a seriously steep hillside where pickers are known to stumble and tractors apt to slide. The 2008 growing season was unusually warm, which made for ultra ripe fruit flavors in our Rieslings.
The Riesling fruit was handpicked on a sunny day by a dedicated group of family and friends. The juice was fermented cool in a stainless steel tank. It was the stand-out Riesling in the cellar for fruit-forward aromatics. Only 127 cases produced. This Riesling exhibits mango and jasmine aromas, matched by a vibrant flavor and fine structure. Pair with fish and fowl; a beautiful wine for Thanksgiving dinner.
"Really bright, with a streak of honeysuckle running through the yellow and green apple fruit. The finish is fresh and invigorating. Drink now." James Molesworth, Wine Spectator Online, Dec 28, 2009.
