Harvest Date: September 23rd, 2008
Appellation: Finger Lakes
Bottled: 15 cases on May 30th, 2009
Made from a handful of vines located high up on a sandy hill, a special sub-block of our Turkey Run vineyard. The vines are especially healthy, benefiting from the good drainage, increased airflow, and afternoon sun the hill provides. We thought we’d get 17 cases of this special wine (as printed on the back label of the bottle), but we managed to squeeze out only a scanty 15 cases.
The Sandy Hill Vignoles was fermented in a tiny-little-40-gallon stainless steel tank and babied by the winemaker throughout its time in the cellar. A precious wine with delicate grapefruit and violet aromas, full flavor and racy acidity.
Limit 2 bottles/order.
