Vineyard 1950 lies on the eastern side of Keuka Lake, just across the road from the Silvernail Vignoles and catty corner to the Leon Millot Fournier Vineyard. The 2008 season was unusually warm and we let this Delaware hang on the vine to a whopping 22.5 Brix.

Fermented warm in a small stainless steel tank. The ripeness led to a good helping of alcohol, 13.5%, and we think that made it extra stable; no artificial cold, bentonite, or fining was needed in the finishing. Only a deck of cards worth of cases produced. With its heady aromatics, creamy mouth feel and pleasant finish, this is our finest Delaware vintage to date.s.
