The Evergreen Lek vineyard is nestled beside an evergreen wood and many precious clusters are lost each year to forest animals such as deer and wild turkeys that graze on the boundary rows.
In 2009, the Evergreen Lek Riesling fruit was handpicked on a cold and drizzly day by a dedicated crew of family and friends including Dex, Becky, Brian, Jill, Kalia, Staci, Mel, Bruce, Jim, John, Ben, Tyler, Dorothee, and Cheryl. The juice was fermented cool in a stainless steel milk tank. The finished wine required no fining and was naturally stabilized in the cold winter cellar.
A lovely wine with refined aromas of ripe lime and honeydew melon with juicy acidity and a steely austerity that appeals to dry Riesling lovers.
