The KLV White is a blend of 36% Vignoles and 64% Riesling fruit. The Vignoles hails from Randy Scotchmer's Purple Foot Farm on the east side of Keuka Lake. The Riesling component was grown on our estate lands adjoining the KLV tasting room and consists of fruit from our Evergreen Lek, Goldman and Falling Man vineyards.
The Vignoles fruit was machine harvested and one month later the Riesling fruit handpicked by a dedicated crew of family and friends. The juice was fermented by vineyard lot in stainless steel. The wines were naturally cold stabilized by winter cellar temperatures. After six months cellar aging, the vineyard lots were fully combined and our KLV White blend filtered and bottled. Intense grapefruit and pineapple notes on the nose continure to show on the lively palate and lingering finish.
